Mobile hearing system fitting
Library development of our processes
With this project, we are bringing proven audiological tests to mobile devices and creating the basis for flexible hearing system fitting through platform-independent solutions.

About the project
Library development
A central technical objective is the platform- and operating system-independent implementation of the following diagnostic and adaptation procedures:
- APTA (tonal audiometry)
- trueLOUDNESS (subjective loudness perception)
- revoloud (loudness validation)
- OLSA (speech audiometry)
- ACALES (listening effort)
This enables more flexible use of the processes, without the need for the special software and hardware that was previously required.
Technical demonstrator
The libraries are integrated into a platform-independent web demonstrator which, in addition to mobile process control via e.g. smartphones, also enables calibrated playback via headphones, loudspeakers and research hearing aids (Portable Hearing Lab, PHL).

Suitability for everyday use
In addition to the technical development, we are also investigating how the processes from the laboratory can be transferred to real everyday situations.
Possible application examples
The mobile approach opens up new possibilities in hearing system care - from home visits and remote fittings by hearing care professionals to self-fitting, where users can adjust their devices themselves. This makes it possible to provide care in places where access to traditional services is limited.
Funding measure
The project is being carried out as part of INNO-KOM funding.
