The House of Hearing - A vision becomes reality!
In this house, everything revolves around the topic of hearing. Since its completion in 2002, all partners of the Oldenburg Hearing Research have found a home here - at least temporarily. The House of Hearing offers ideal conditions for the transfer of the latest audiological research results between scientists and medical professionals, industry and practice.
The combination of different institutions under one roof is optimal to achieve the highest possible synergy. This serves the high quality standards of scientific studies, audiological products as well as services with the seal "Made in Oldenburg".
In addition to the nine acoustic measurement rooms, the Communication Acoustics Simulator (KAS) is the highlight of the building. Thanks to the use of sophisticated technology, consisting of numerous microphones and loudspeakers as well as elaborate electronics, almost any room can be simulated acoustically in the KAS.
Practical and open
The House of Hearing is a place of exchange and cooperation. Therefore, it is very important to the institutions in the House of Hearing to make their research topics accessible to the public.
With guided tours, lectures and concerts in the communication acoustics simulator and hearing garden, the interested public is offered a vivid and experience-oriented insight into the complex world of hearing.
