The Hearing Center Oldenburg - Ears open even in times of Corona
< Press release Oldenburg, 17.02.2021> The Hearing Center Oldenburg, a non-profit organization since December 2020, benefits greatly from contacts with test persons when conducting hearing studies. Since the outbreak of Corona, and thus soon for almost a year, this has only been possible to a limited extent. Nevertheless, work continues at the Hörzentrum Oldenburg. After all, Corona also makes you inventive and offers opportunities for new things. For example, the staff at the House of Hearing have developed a "suitcase" that brings the study to the subjects' homes - without any contact at all. "The suitcase contains a great deal of technical equipment, and via video conference, the study is accompanied step by step by a study director. Even hearing aids can be adjusted remotely in this way," explains Müge Kaya, head of the trial at the Oldenburg hearing center. "We have been able to gather very positive experiences and thank our committed test subjects who continue to support the hearing center in times of Corona."
Currently, the center is again conducting non-contact studies strictly following the guidelines to protect against Corona. With a little optimism, a limited special operation is scheduled to start in March, when studies could again be conducted in the House of Hearing under the strictest hygiene measures. Therefore, the Hearing Center is again looking for normal hearing and hard of hearing people who are willing to support our research.
